This week the Both Lighting USA and Fusion Sound and Lighting team is away in Asheville, North Carolina for something you don’t see often in the DJ world — a full team retreat. A full house of DJs, gear, education, games, and non-stop music.

Hosting a retreat like this builds connection, boosts energy, and shows your team how much you value them. Here’s how we made ours special:

Every morning kicked off with focused education to help us grow individually and as a team:

• Dream Building with Rick Web

• Cooking 101 with Marcellus Doe

• Social Media Masterclass with Hannah, Rick, and Dave

• Plus additional sessions on business growth and personal development

Each session was designed to do two things: teach something practical and light a fire creatively.

The afternoons were all about fun and connection. This house did not disappoint:

• Team-building games

• Relay races

• Wild’n Out–style improv battles

• FSL Olympics

We stayed in an incredible house with a pool, hot tub, game room, and 15 bedrooms — plenty of space for big ideas and big laughs.

What’s a DJ retreat without DJing? Anytime we weren’t in a session or competing in games, there was music.

• We brought LD Maui 28s, a Pioneer DDJ-REV7 (shoutout Asante!), and a full filming rig to capture everything.

• We recorded content, took turns DJing, and just vibed out together as creatives.

This week was a reminder of how powerful team chemistry and a shared mission can be for your company culture.
